Recently, PA Consulting (PA Consulting) and Searo Labs partnered to develop seaweed-based plastics and disposable items for global brands that can be used in consumer products and packaging in the food, personal care and home care sectors.
Searo's material is reportedly compostable at home, heat-sealable, optically clear, safe for food contact, and has controlled moisture and texture.
They are said to be sustainably grown, locally processed, low-energy technology, and not chemically modified. Under the partnership agreement, Searo Labs, for its part, will contribute its knowledge of material formulation and intellectual property to the collaboration, while PA Consulting is committed to driving the promotion and commercialization of the technology. The new plastic-free solution from both parties has the potential to revolutionize the FMCG industry in the future.
