In addition, there is a growing demand for reusable kitchen products.

On Amazon, searches for "reusable snack bags" have increased 321 percent in the past three months, searches for "reusable paper towels" have increased 136 percent, and sales of "Reusable straws" have increased 297 percent overall.

As early as 2020 Amazon banned the sale of single-use plastic products such as straws and cotton swabs in the EU, UK and Turkey.

In connection with this order, Amazon sent a notification email to sellers explaining that the sale of single-use plastic products and products made from biodegradable plastic would be banned based on the EU's "Plastic Restriction".

Amazon says this is one of the environmental measures it has taken. Amazon is committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040, 100 percent renewable energy by 2025 and zero CO2 emissions for all shipments, with the goal of achieving zero emissions for 50 percent of shipments by 2030.
