Zen Running Club, an Amsterdam-based company that produces bio-based, plastic-free running shoes, recently launched a new shoe, the Zen Running Club, which it claims is the “most sustainable running shoe” on the market.

Zen Running Club was founded in 2020 by two former Nike employees, Andy Farnworth and Richard Rusling, and the FUTUREOne is the third running shoe they've released.

FUTUREone's midsole is made with the brand's proprietary Project 68 foam, which has a 68% canola oil base and the highest bio-content of any performance foam. It's also formulated with enzymes that help accelerate its end-of-life decomposition in landfills. The knit upper is made from eucalyptus fibers.
