Naturopera is a French company that produces baby care, feminine care and household products with a focus on local production and sustainability.
The international technology group Andritz has successfully delivered, installed and commissioned a baby diaper processing line at Naturopera's new plant in Bully Les Mines, France.
Andritz Diatec's eXcelle conversion line uses special technology to produce traditional and bio-based baby diapers, supporting Naturopera's efforts to become a leading producer of next-generation sustainable diapers.
While most diapers on the market consist of 70% fossil-based plastics, Naturopera is preparing to produce diapers made from 90% bio-based raw materials. This groundbreaking diaper concept was developed in close collaboration between Naturopera and Andritz. It replaces traditional spunbond and meltblown nonwoven layers with hydroentangled nonwovens made primarily from natural fibers. a prototype of the 90% bio-based diaper was recently produced at Bully Les Mines.
The Andritz processors running at Naturopera are very flexible and can be switched to bio-based diaper production with just a few setups. It is designed for multi-size processes with an operator-friendly interface and guaranteed production speeds of 800 ppm.
Thanks to Andritz Perfojet's support for the conversion of hydroentangled fabrics and Andritz Diatec, we are moving towards producing bio-based diapers," said Claire Stévignon, marketing manager for Naturopera Baby Care. We will soon start offering green, high-quality diapers using a jointly developed concept. This initiative will make an important contribution to improving the sustainability of diaper production.
