Recently, Veolia China released news that L'Oréal and Veolia have partnered to offer new product packaging made of recycled plastic worldwide.
Veolia announced that it is supplying L'Oréal with high-quality recycled plastics for its global product packaging, reducing the carbon footprint of cosmetic packaging, the news said. Compared to standard packaging bottles, cosmetic packaging made from recycled plastic can avoid 50 to 70 percent of CO2 emissions.
Jacques Playe, L'Oréal's Director of Packaging and Development, said that the partnership with Veolia will help L'Oréal advance its sustainability program "L'ORÉAL for the future" and significantly improve environmental issues arising from packaging.
Johann Bonnet, Veolia's Vice President for Business Development and Strategic Accounts, said Veolia is pleased to support L'Oréal in achieving its sustainability goals by providing its expertise in resource recovery and recycling. Veolia aims to be a close partner to all international brands that want to use recycled plastics and develop sustainable packaging processes around the world to address major environmental challenges.
More than 180 countries have joined the global convention against plastic pollution, and many international brands have launched programs to promote the field of recycled products.
